What is Infertility

Infertility means the difficulty to conceive a child after 12 months of regular intercourse without any birth control. Around 1 in 6 couples (15-20%) in India have problems conceiving & require medical intervention.

Infertility can be traumatic for couples suffering from it.  Childless couples generally ask - "What is the problem, doctor? Why we could not have a baby!” So from the first Consultation we give them a detailed Scientific idea about how pregnancy occurs & what is infertility to help them understand Infertility is a common problem in today’s world & with systematic treatment it can be remedied. We ask our patients to focus on the solution on what can be done to maximise the chances of having a baby.

To understand what causes infertility you need to know a bit about fertility - the ability to make a baby. It takes just one sperm and one egg to create a baby, but there's more to fertility than that. To start a family you need to be healthy, your hormones must be working properly and the systems to produce eggs and sperm must be in good working order. Dates of sexual activity play an important part too.
